Technology we use every day, such GPS, relies on satellites, but how much do you know about these "eyes above"? How many are there above you at any given time? What countries own and operate them? And what is their purpose and operational history?

Download this Chrome browser extension to get real-time data about the satellites in a radius above your head at this very minute! The Eyes Above app also includes an experimental audio sonification of this data using FM (frequency modulation) synthesis and LFOs (low frequency oscillators) to provide an acoustic corollary to the data in real time.
