If you ever felt like wasting a lot of time on Youtube recommended videos, this extension might be able to help: it keeps these "guilty pleasures" out of sight, thus, out of mind :).

sometimes I find myself watching some tutorials but couldn't help to "notice" this interesting fail compilation video on the right hand side of the screen...so with my super average will power, I caved. After repeating these steps over and over, I finally had enough, and decided to do something...

You will still have access to your subscriptions/trending videos/history etc, but when you want to watch a specific video, you will no longer get distracted and end up doing something else instead (stay focused, your time is precious, don't give it to youtube recommendation algorithm...)
