WHAT IS "KARAOKE"?
Karaoke (カラオケ?) is a way of singing with songs tracks, following the lyrics printed on a screen and having all the respective musical accompaniment. Etymologically, it comes from the Japanese word kara (空), which means empty; and oke, Japanese abbreviation of the English word orchestra (オーケストラ, ōkesutora), orchestra.
